Imagine fellows get 3 months free visa-compliant travel insurance for yourself and up to 3 dependants, when you sign up for public health insurance through our partners at Feather. It is a legal (and visa) requirement that you are covered with health insurance from the day you arrive in Germany until your first day of employment or studies when your full public or private health insurance begins.
<aside> 💡 Public health insurance is recommended by Imagine for those candidates that earn until 66.000 EUR approx. and/or come to Germany with family members. For the rest it might be better to opt for private insurance. We have great partners for both public and private insurances and you can book them all through the links before via Feather. Once having signed up for your health insurance via Feather, you will receive an email prompting you to claim your free travel insurance. You will click on the link in the email to complete the short form with all the info we require for the travel policy.
The policies will be auto-generated every few hours, so upon completing the form, you can expect to receive your travel insurance within 2 hours. This is generated from the information provided, so it’s important the information submitted is correct.
The 90 days free travel insurance is calculated from the date of arrival in Germany. If dates change drastically, you should to contact the Feather insurance team to make changes to the policy.
